Plantar Fasciitis – How To Get Rid Of Pain On The Bottom Of Your Foot

Today I looked at an ad for a bumpy little ball that you can freeze and use to ice the bottom of your foot. The idea was that it could be used for pain on the bottom of your foot (plantar fasciitis.) Well, the only problem with that is…

That only addresses a symptom. The cause of that particular foot pain is most often in the calf muscles. That’s why doctors will say to stretch your calf muscles.  Stretching your calf muscles can help.

Also, a skilled massage therapist can help you get rid of tight calf muscles that are causing pain on the bottom of your foot.

Or you could press your calf against the little icy bumpy ball or a frozen water bottle. That way you are treating the CAUSE of the plantar fasciitis rather than only treating the symptom (the pain.)

If muscles elsewhere are causing your pain, treating the painful area will not help.  But treating the CAUSE will make your pain on the bottom of your foot go away. 🙂

Many thanks Kathryn Merrow with respect to this excellent message. Plantar Fasciitis is an extremely debilitating issue…I should understand – I have been a patient myself on a very personal level!
The perfect treatments in my view is loads of rest not to mention the right types of stretching exercises.

Hello. Definitely stretching the calf muscles properly is a good way to help plantar fasciitis. Strengthening the front of the lower leg helps, too.
