What’s the biggest cause of migraines and headaches? I believe the #1 cause is your muscles.
When muscles are tight they press on the nerves and blood vessels that go from the neck to your head. When those nerves or blood vessels are pressed, they can cause head pain.
Additionally, muscles get trigger points. Trigger points are hyper-irritable areas of muscle (or other soft tissue) that get a type of ‘knot’ that triggers pain elsewhere.
So trigger points in the muscles of your neck or shoulders or face or head can cause head pain.
What can you do to relieve trigger points or tight muscles that cause headaches?
1. Ice the area including the tops of your shoulders and neck.
2. Go to a professional massage therapist.
3. Get a trigger point book and follow the steps to get rid of your trigger points yourself. Claire Davies wrote an easy to use self-help trigger point book available at Amazon.
4. Warm the muscles on the tops of your shoulders.
5. Correct your posture. Sleep, sit, drive, type and walk with your head held over your body and your chest lifted.
Migraines can also be caused by hormone shifts in women, by certain foods and by medicines. Getting rid of as many of the causes as possible will help you get rid of your headaches.

Thank you for commenting.
Headaches are not caused by aspirin deficiency! It’s important for people to understand why their head hurts and that there are natural ways to get rid of a lot of their head pain.
There is no such thing as ‘that common, everyday headache.’ That is a symptom that something is wrong with posture or muscles are complaining. Most headache and migraine pain can be helped naturally.
